• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

Built in KitchenAid Superba microwave combo oven. "Door" error message even when door is closed, micro will not run. This has been an issue in the past, but " jiggling" door would fix it- at leas temporarily. That doesn't work anymore. Is it probably the switch? How hard is it to replace? I already have control panel unsecured. Is first step testing fuses?

Sounds like a bad interlock microswitch. To check/replace it, you'll need to separate the microwave from the oven in order to remove the side panel on the microwave and access the door switches.
