Hello,

I have been perusing the forums and have some questions about my refrigerator issue. The fridge is between 46F-54F at the coldest setting, the freezer is at -20F at the 5/9 setting with the thermometer on the door.

I have:
Vacuumed the coils under the fridge
Tested the bimetal when the evaporator was frosted and found it closed
Tested the defrost heater and found it to be about 33 ohms, which is in spec
Forced the system into electronic defrost control test mode, and it defrosted, and ran until the bimetal opened
The evaporator fan is blowing a good amount of air
The fridge thermostat does not have stuck contacts
The compressor was hot, but there wasn't any clicking
The fan next to the compressor is fully functional

Going back about 6 hours after forcing defrost and discovered the evaporator iced over again. Ambient is about 76F @ 47%RH.
I am currently trying option 2 for the electronic defrost control test mode to see if it works.

Thanks in advance for any assistance

If the defrost heater comes on, then your defrost thermostat and defrost heater are good, that would just leave the electronic defrost circuit board as the culprit.

Let us know what happens.

The new control board seems to have done it, at 7/7 the fridge is at around 36F and at 5/7 the freezer is at -25F.

Thanks

On a side note it is a little disappointing that the quality of the components decreased on the new board, especially given how expensive it was.

Excellent, glad to hear the new control board fixed it.(y)

Yes, I know what you mean.
