Hi all,

My family has a:

Kenmore 70 series
Type 111
Model: 110.26732500
Serial: CS4037613
(Appliance411 says this was manufactured in 2005).

During the rinse/spin cycle, the drum no longer spins. There is a loud buzzing/grinding/hum noise. It is correctly draining into our utility sink. (Yesterday, a couple hours after we turned the washer off because of the hum, we found it leaked a good amount of water on the floor).

The video below is me going through the motions on the above: starting the rinse cycle - water begins to fill, then I skip to the spin cycle - loud buzz/hum starts. Water drains into utility sink, but drum doesn't spin.

(Not in the video above: I started a fill and then moved it to the agitation cycle to see if it would agitate. It does not agitate -- gives the same loud buzz/hum as during the spin cycle.)

I couldn't find a forum entry with these exact attributes (though it probably exists). Seeking guidance before I start taking things apart without direction.

Thank you for your help!

I'd first check your motor coupler and see if its worn out(rubber shavings on your floor) or if any of the plastic fingers on it have broken.

Here's the motor coupling for your model:

Unplug your washer first, then you can watch this video below and it shows you to how access it and replace it, if needed:

Let us know what you find.

Thank you. I took a quick look underneath and didn’t notice rubber shavings, but I will aim to take it apart tomorrow and go through the steps in the video.

Much appreciated - and I’ll report back!

We’ve found the culprit.

I'm ordering the part from Appliance Parts Pro now.

Thank you so much for your help. I’m so grateful you responded yesterday as I aim to steward our family’s resources!
