Last night, we noticed that our Kenmore (model 362.75586890) oven was taking well over an hour to get to 400 degrees.

Turn on oven, it glows orange on bottom. nothing on top though (where igniter is)

Stovetop is working fine, broiler seems to work fine.

Thoughts?

The igniter even though the oven is getting warm? (just taking a longer amount of time)

The igniter on the top of the oven is just for the broiler, correct?
There are flames on the right and left sides of the bottom of the oven.

The oven ignitor is the first thing we would check....they can weaken and cause low flame, delayed igniton, quiting part way through cooking...

Correct, below the oven floor is the bake ignitor.

One flame, it is spread out towards the sides...

ignore the writting on the pic.

Hi Jeff, came home and was able to troubleshoot a bit...

took the burner cover/plate from bottom of oven off...turned on the oven to 400...

ignitor goes on, turns bright red, but burner goes on for couple seconds and shuts off...and continues to do this repeatedly

thoughts?

btw, appreciate your help on this!

ignitor stays on while flame goes on and off (2-3 seconds on, 2-3 seconds off)

Since the ignitor is staying on the power would appear constant to the ignitor so it still -sounds- like a weak ignitor not drawing enough current to keep the gas valve open....amp meter is the test, or a new ignitor if we have no meter to test with.

Thanks Jeff! Is there a Kenmore part # for the igniter so I can get it locally?
