Today the wife tells me the dryer is not drying.. So I opend up the old dryer and noticed the heating element was not heating up.. Took off the back and noticed one of the wires was cooked and had falling off the element connector.. The heating element is new (2 months) old along with a thermostat and fuse. So my concern is what caused it.. I did clean out the whole dryer of lint when doing the repair.. The element and fuse plus thermostat still test good.. I will repair it tomorrow it will be simple, but this just blew my mind. There is a little dust there, but nothing like it was a few months ago.

Model Number: 600

That is not the model number. Please get it off the model and serial number tag so we can look up the machine you're dealing with.
You can find tips for locating the model and serial number identification tag on your appliances at the following link:

LINK > Model Number Tag Location Guide

one of the wires was cooked and had falling off the element connector..

There are 3 things that can cause that; 1. a poor connection between the wire and the wire terminal. 2. A poor connection between the wire terminal and what it is attached to (the element in this case) or the element terminal heating up and burning the connecting wire.

The wire needs to be trimmed back to an unaffected portion and a new wire terminal installed. If the terminal of the element is now discoloured from the heat, the element may need to be replaced again. Putting a good wire and connector onto a burnt terminal will result in the same failure again.

Depending on the dryer model, there may be a wire terminal kit available for the element wiring.
