We have a Kenmore 665.1863402 that's at least 7 years old. About a month ago I replaced a bad thermistor that was reading 40+ when tested for resistance. Worked great for about a month, now have the same issue woth a 40+ reading, again with cycle stopping and the green LED "Clean" light flashing 7 times. Thinking this must be the result of another issue but not sure where to look next. Heating element reads 0.00 when tested.

Jon, the control is programmed to stop the cycle if it suspects a faulty heater (no temperature increase detected ). The control blinks the Clean LED 7 times in repetitive fashion and disables the Start/Resume. Make sure your meter is on the lowest ohms scale, RX10 and recheck the element. If it's not between 10Ω - 30Ω replace it. After it's replaced you need to run the service diagnostics cycle.
