kenmore 80 series noise

My new washer model# 110.25862400 makes a lot of noise when washing on the heavy duty cycle and it gives off a metal smell. This is a replacement for a washer that had the same smell and a metal grinding sound. Is this normal for this machine or is it a design flaw. Does Sears consider this to be a problem with this machine?

Is this your 2nd new washer delivered within 45 days?

No, its not common to get a metal smell and grinding. Sounds like a defect, or shipping damage.

Did you pull the yellow strap from the back to release the shipping pins?

If it was delivered, they should have done it for you. But always check to make sure.
