Kenmore 94179 guard or cover than can be placed over the bake element?

I just bought a new house and inherited this range. I've only ever had a gas range in the kitchen, so I'm used to baking with somewhat indirect heat. Is there some kind of guard or cover than can be placed over the bake element? Thanks!

No and nothing should be needed. Food in the oven is cooked via air temperature, not radiant heat from the element.

If you buy a newer electric range or oven some offer a "hidden bake element". I do not know that they cook any better and can be more difficult to service. The main selling point of if is easier oven cleaning.


BTW. the number you posted is not a model number but instead either a 'stock' number or only part of a model number.
