Hello,

I've used the search function and came up empty.

I have a Kenmore glass top oven
Model: C880676289J2
Serial: IMM2294051
Type: 30p

I'm sure the bake element is toasted and I'm not seeing how to get the back cover off to access the element.

Anyone have a manual or has worked on this model before. I feel a little over my head but maybe I'm just psyching myself out.

Any help appreciated.

Not all hidden bake elements are accessed from the rear. I do not know on that model nor do I have access to parts lists to look it up. Furthermore, few Canadian Kenmore information will be found online at all.

That model was made for Sears by Whirlpool Canada. Your best bet is to check with a local Whirlpool service depot for help.

I had read that some are accessible from the side but this one definitely is not.

There really is no info on these units anywhere which is frustrating

Yes, some models the whole side panel has to be removed to access a hidden bake element. (I don't know what the designer was on when he thought of that.) On other models the oven bottom panel is removable.

That can happen when you purchase 'store brand' products.

I did see some had removable bottoms but mine unfortunately does not. It has to come out the back by the looks of it.

I just wish I could see how the back comes off the oven

I agree with Dan, locate a local Whirlpool service depot in your area of Canada and they will help you locate it.
