I have a Kenmore Coolspot SxS 106.44023602 with a build date of 2007-07 (its an old timer).

The fridge and freezer run just fine and cool to setpoint without issues.

However, the unit has started an odd behavior of what sounds like a power cycling of some piece of electronics. The fan noise (can't hear compressor) will cut out with a relay click, then about a half second later, there is another click with a barely audible chirp immediately after it (almost simultaneous) and the fan comes back on.

This happens intermittently and very unpredictably. Anywhere from every 3-5 seconds for a minute or two, or it can go 20-30 minutes with no issues.

I suspect either a main control board, or inverter board is malfunctioning / dying, but is able to operate normally for enough duty cycle to keep the fridge cooling properly. My aim is to find the cause before the eventual death happens and I lose a fridge full of food.

Here is a recording of down by the toe kick grille - turn volume way up - I promise there are no jump scares!

Thanks!!

Your main relay control board is malfunctioning, that controls the fan motors.

They no longer make these boards new anymore, they offer service kits now.

Here's the SERVICE KIT for your model you can order:
W10823804 Electronic Control Board Service Kit
