Kenmore Ultra Wash Model# 665.13559K.
The High Temp, Heated and Cancel/Drain buttons light up if pressed. I can hit Cancel/Drain and you hear unit kick on to drain for about 20 secs then shuts off. Regardless of which cycle button I press, that particular button won't light up nor will unit start.
I opened up control panel on door to make sure latch was properly operating which it was. Made sure all cables/plugs were snug. Replaced panel. This unit is hardwired so I flipped the breaker for 30 mins and then came back to operate unit. The first cycle I chose was normal wash and unit came on, filled and started to wash. I hit cancel to drain. After finish draining, I tried to operate unit again and now I'm back to square one. No operation for cycles. Haven't tried the breaker again because that's gonna be a hassle if I have to every time!

Its either the control board or keypad that's causing this.

To determine if the control board or keypad is faulty, do the following test:
Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power Open the dishwasher door. Open console and disconnect the keypad ribbon connection from the control (at P1). Make sure all other connections are made. Put console back together. Do not close the dishwasher door. Plug in dishwasher or reconnect power. Wait 5 seconds. Close dishwasher door. Monitor the control’s response.

➔If the control board is OK (no longer sees shorts with the keypad unplugged), it will respond by turning on the drain motor for 2 minutes. Replace the keypad(control panel touchpad assembly) if the control board responds OK.

➔If the control board is not OK (still sees shorts with the keypad unplugged), then the drain motor will NOT respond. If drain motor does not start within 10 seconds, repeat or verify that all steps were followed, and then replace the control board.

Here's the control board for your model, if needed:
