Kenmore Dishwasher Knob will not turn

I have an older Kenmore Dishwasher model 665-15595791 Ultra Wash Quiet Guard. I went to use it and it just made a humming noise for a few minutes so I turned the knob to shut it off and now the knob will not turn at all. I have read other people say to clean behind the knob but that is not the problem. This is an older machine and only has a knob to turn it to different cycles. I can't get to the plug but I have turned off the breaker for it and turned it back on to no avail. I will post some pics. Thanks for any advice

You turned the timer clockwise to OFF or counter clockwise?

now the knob will not turn at all.

Please clarify. The timer doesn't advance on its own or you can't manually turn it??

I turned it clockwise to off. It will not turn manually no matter which way I try to turn it.

Someone might need to look if it is externally binding somehow. If the jam is inside the timer itself, the timer might need to be replaced.

You can get an idea how you might be able to access the timer in this video.

Let us know how you make out.

The bad news is if the timer itself is the problem the timer would need to be replaced. Unfortunately a new timer is discontinued and NLA. If needed you might need to try to find old stock or a used one.
