I have a 90 series dryer. When you start it, the motor hums as if it is trying to turn the drum and is unable to, and then cuts out. It takes sometime for it to reset brefore I can try to start it again. I have taken off the fan, and run the motor without the belt attached. This seeme to be OK. But, when reasembled, I can only run the dryer for one load before it refuses to turn the drum again. I have noticed that when it does not run, the barrel is difficult to turn. The front barrel rollers appear to turn fine.

Hi,

**90 series dryer**

This is a name and not a model#.

http://www.applianceaid.com/model.html

Some model# helps.

**I have taken off the fan, and run the motor without the belt attached. This seeme to be OK.**

Could still be a bad motor, some will run with no load ( belt off ) but fail when asked to work hard ( belt on ).

**I have noticed that when it does not run, the barrel is difficult to turn. The front barrel rollers appear to turn fine**

Make sure all the drum supports are not tight and seizing holding the motor back from running.
