Our Kenmore HE washer is having trouble spinning during the regular cycle. After the Wash and Rinse cycle the light switches to Spin and the lid unlocks. But the washer just sits there with the spin light on and nothing happens. It just sits there and the cycle never ends. i hold the Start/Pause button down for three seconds to cancel the cycle, change the selector to Drain/Spin and start it and it drains and spins just fine.

What would cause the normal cycle not to spin normally but works fine in another cycle? it does seem like this happens more on heavier loads but i have not confirmed that theory.

I'd say its a bad main control board. It sounds like its out-of-sync.

This is a 2011 model washer, so it wouldn't make much sense putting over $300 in it to replace the control board, it would cost more to fix it than its worth.
