My dual burner (right front) recently stopped working. I did some continuity testing and found the switch was fine. Further testing showed the temperature limit switch to be the issue. I purchased a new surface element. Took a while to get everything hooked up properly since the labels didn’t match with the original. Got everything up and running and then when I turned the power on it didn’t work. While retracing my steps it was assumed that at some point the connection to the cooktop lockout relay board was reconnected upside down. When we flipped it, the burner worked as it should. However, before closing everything up we tested the other burners And now the simmer select burner (left front) no longer works. When we flipped it over again, the left front works but the right front doesn’t. Is it safe to assume there is an issue with the relay board? Any way to test this?

Added complete model number

Sorry, I assumed when I entered it on the form that it would’ve displayed. The exact model is 790.96423409

What's the part number of the element you just replaced?
connection to the cooktop lockout relay board was reconnected upside down.
Usually, the wire harness connectors on a range will only go on one way so I'm not following you. Can you take a picture of the connector and post it here. I need locate the tech sheet/wiring diagram. stand by

I think we found the problem. My father in law took the lockout board out and there was a burn mark behind the board. One of the pins is missing as well. The part number is 316418101. I just ordered a replacement part. It’ll be here by 12/7. I’ll take a picture so you can see when I remove the old board

I swapped out the replacement board and now all burners are working. If you look at the side by side picture you can see one of the pins is missing and there’s a burn mark. On the front of the piece the pins are marked P2 to P7. I didn’t take a picture but the wires that go into this fit in the normal position as well as flipped 180 degrees. When I put on either way the only thing that changed was which front burner turned on.

Save the old board and resolder that bad joint. You'll have a spare board. Glad to hear it's working!
