Hello,

I have a Kenmore 253.70443416 French Door Fridge. In the fridge compartment, below the deli drawer it has frozen over with a puddle that is now ice. I'm assuming this is due to the fridge freezing over. Is there a way to do some sort of force defrost to unjam the ice?

Thank You.

Added complete model number

There’s water near the fridge door and an ice sheet under the deli drawer.

Will do! You think the Ice Maker is jammed and water is flowing over? Seems odd.

Icemaker seems fine. Where does the fridge drain into? The right side hole was full of ice.

Update, I opened up the area behind the freezer. The ice block from above went into the freezer below. I broke the block out and put it all back together.

I'm still trying to see how the water drains from the fridge compartment into the freezer one as the back to pads are elevated.

The airflow is up through the center tower and back through the two return ducts in each corner. You don't have an evaporator in the fresh food compartment. The only evaporator and defrost system is in the freezer section, and water won't flow uphill. Your ice is coming from a water supply. Check the water line on the left corner while pressing the dispenser. Check the water reservoir for a leak and check the water filter for a leak. Look where the lines are inserted.

Okay, makes sense it was a ton of water and ice. Will go look and report back.

It looks like it's leaking from the water dispenser near the elbow in the back of the fridge on the left side. Does that tube just come out?

You mean the water filter housing inside the refrigerator section?

This maybe the hose that's leaking:
Water Line 242220204

When you click the part link to that hose you will see a video of how to access/replace it.
