Hey guys, Brand new to this thread. In reading some of the posts, it appears this is the place to find answers about my 4 year old non-cooling Kenmore refrigerator model 795.72493611. Both freezer and refrigerator just stopped cooling. Was told it is a solid state failure. What does this mean and can I repair this for at a reasonable price? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Pull the refrigerator out from the wall, then remove the rear lower access panel, and see if the condenser fan motor is running, it mounts next to the compressor.

Also--->Is the compressor running? Put your hand on the top of the compressor and feel if its running/vibrating.

If your compressor is NOT running, then unplug the refrigerator and remove the compressor start relay device and ohm test it with a multimeter set on the lowest ohms of resistance, I set mine on 200 ohms.

Normal ohms should be between 0 to 12 ohms on your model.
