Working on a fairly new Kenmore Upright Freezer. It is Model: 111.22182120. I have some questions. (A) With source code 111, who made this Freezer ?? (B) The defrost heater is Part Number 60128-0021200-00, what is the wattage of this heater, and (C) In the defrost circuit. there is a "Temp Fuse 77°C". What exactly is that ?? A Fuse?? A Thermistor?? and how does one properly check this device ??

Winiadaewoo

Fuse.

how does one properly check this device ??

For continuity

what is the wattage of this heater

I have no idea how you'd find that out besides looking at the markings on it or looking to see if the wiring diagram states it.

Thank you for the information. I have heard of Daewoo, but not Winiadaewoo.

The term "thermal fuse", I have found incorporates a variety of meanings.

Yes, I known how to check simply continuity.

UPDATE----

Winia-Daewoo is a S Koren Company. Their USA Headquarters is:

Winiadaewoo Electronics America, Inc.
3 Sperry Road Fairfield, NJ 07004
TEL: 1-877-393-7823

I called this number looking for Technical Support. No such luck. They only provide assistance to "authorized" service agents on "in warranty" products only. Out of warranty ?? You are on your own.

The upside is, that they did send a Service Manual that covered the above model. As one can expect, the translation from Koren to English is a little confusing.

Note to self, stay away from these products.

They only provide assistance to "authorized" service agents

That's the way most companies operate. They can't deal with every Tom, Dick and Harry asking for assistance. Many charge a fee for such access as well. In the case of a 'store brand' like Kenmore I'm surprised they didn't just refer you back to Sears as Kenmore is Sears' problem.

The term "thermal fuse",

A "fuse" is usually a fuse. A thermal "safety" or thermal "cutoff" could have various interpretations depending on the manufacturer's preference. Those part types usually have different electrical symbols as well.

Can you upload the manual here in case someone else comes looking? That's how these forums work best, when everyone contributes.
