I have a top load, direct drive washer that will not spin after a neutral drain, during the wash cycle or the rinse/spin cycles. It agitates and drains normally. The timer pauses at the correct times. In the rinse cycle for example, the water fills, the washer will agitate, the timer will pause, it will drain, the timer will pause again, and then the motor will turn back on but no spin will occur. I have found that sometimes all it takes is pushing in and pulling out the stop/start knob. Other times I spin the tub in both directions and it will eventually start to spin. I've noticed when it does start to spin its when a loud click is heard.
