This is a picture of the lint filter that attaches to the underside of the inner basket. There is not a problem with it, I removed it from the bottom of the basket to remove 26 years of dog and cat hair that was trapped there. While watching videos about my machine, one video said to throw out the old ring and replace it with those little filters -- should i? We do currently have a dog and 2 cats, so there is lots of dog fur. The advantage to those little filters is they would be easier to clean, but are they better? Thanks!

Hi,

Those little filters don't do much.....but a little filtering is better than none at all!
I'd install the new rubber plug filter kit.

Hi Jeff,

I picked the filter plug kit up from my parts store a couple days ago. How do I install them? This video
says that they should just snap into place, but they don't, they are very loose and when I did a load, they came out. The bag they came in said they are genuine Whirlpool OEM parts.

I can't put the large under-basket filter back on because my dog thought it was a good chew toy, so now it's destroyed. The man at the parts store said that I should use the filter plugs, because coins or other stuff could get into the pump and destroy it, which I don't want to happen!

Thanks,
Lizzy

Yes, that video is correct.

Can you post the part# and a picture of the bag you purchased?
Yes they should fit in snuggly.

How did you remove this filter? Did you have to break it, and that's why you are looking for another solution?
