FIXED KFCS22EVMS8 KitchenAid Refrigerator is warm, freezer is cold. Damper stays closed

Hey, my refrigerator section started warming up, while freezer stayed cold. I did basic googling, removed the damper cover, the damper door was closed.
I propped the door open with a small object and the temperature has recovered to the set value. Basically everything functions fine now with the damper door manually semi-opened.

When I turn the fridge off and on, the dumper motor performs one 360 rotation, stops in the closed position and doesn't move until the power is cycled again.
I removed the damper assembly, visually inspected it and pulled all the wires, everything looks fine.
I removed the control board cover, visually inspected it, pulled all the wires, everything looked fine as well.
When I remove one of the connector plugs on the control board, the motor starts spinning without stopping.

I'm trying to figure out what is broken and needs replacing: the damper, the control board, something else?

I remember a thread awhile back that Rick helped with and it was the damper that was the culprit, not the board:
