KHMS1850SSS2 - Replacing broken plastic door latch tab

The lower latch tab on the door broke with the thin edge barely still attached. I superglued it back together, and it worked perfectly again... for about a day. Then the glue failed and the piece broke off completely and fell into the unit.

New tabs do not appear to be available, but people sell used ones on ebay, though there a couple of different types, so I am trying to confirm what I need.

I have two questions:

1. How do you remove the door from this model? The bottom has a fixed pin protruding from the door that just sits in a hole in the hinge bracket. The top has a pin that looks like it snaps in place through the hinge bracket into the door. I tried to pry it up and out, and it popped up partially but did not want to come all the way out. I didn't want to force it, so I am trying to confirm that it is a snap fit and should pop out. See attached pic of pin.
2. How do you disassemble the door to get to the tabs? From youtube searches, it looks like the inner plastic bezel around the glass snaps in place around the perimeter, I tried to pry it with a screwdriver, and it didn't seem to unsnap. Didn't go too far, fearing I would break it.

Any help on these two questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Here are a couple of images from the service manual. The door should lift up when open, there is a piece on the top hinge that must be moved to allow it to lift. Hope this helps

Thanks, this was very helpful. I got the part out, and confirmed that none of the used parts I found on ebay were the same.

The parts diagram I found did not show a part number for these tabs. Does anyone know if the tabs can be purchased, and if so what the part number is? I searched by the model number, but didn't find anything.

Unfortunately, this one is different. The body is longer and screw location different. The latch part does have the same shape.

💡 Try to find someone that can print one out? Maybe make a couple of spares?

Unfortunately not. The body of the part from my unit is almost twice as long. I found some of the style you showed for sale on ebay. They are definitely a different part.

I am going to try to rebuild the broken section by melting a wire into the part and covering with epoxy, then file/sand to final shape.

If that doesn't work, I'll fabricate a whole new part out of some TBD material. I think I can make something by stacking three different parts. See attached rendering. Trying to create a part file for a 3D print, would be cool, but I don't have the skillset to do that or a printer to make it, and wanting to minimize my time investment to get this thing fixed.
