My KitchenAid 5 Door refrigerator is now 4.5 years old and has had some issues along the way, mostly with the ice maker and the front panel which were all repaired. The fridge has been problem free for a good while now until this past week. The fridge has started shutting down. By shut down I mean it quits cooling, freezer isn't working and the lights don't work, its like everything on the unit quits working except the the front panel. While the whole rest of the refrigerator is is out, the front panel still lights up to touch for ice and water.
Then after some time, which has been completely random, the refrigerator will just start working again. This is baffling to me. When the unit comes back on there are no errors or power failure faults, I guess because the power to the refrigerator was never actually lost and the front panel was active during this time.
I have search the topics here and have found various post about the same/similar units cutting off or working intermittently, but did not find and for the same situation where the front panel was still active. Was wondering if anyone has seen something like this before or could help point me in the right direction for troubleshooting. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thank you all in advance for taking the time to read this.
