Hi, should my water inlet valve have continuity between the 2 terminals? I read that they should, and mine did not, so I ordered one. I immediately tested it when it arrived, and it did not have continuity.

This is the part I ordered.

BTW, I'm getting the 6-4 code. I checked the float switch and it had continuity.

Thanks

Make sure your meter has fresh batteries in it, set your meter to the lowest ohm setting, then touch the meter probes together and it should show 0 ohms.

That water inlet valve from amazon is a aftermarket part and aftermarket parts will not work properly on appliances.

Here's the OEM water inlet valve for your model:

Watch this video to ohm test it:

The batteries in my digital multimeter are good. When I short-circuit the probes together I get .2 ohms (and tone). When I touch the terminals on the valve I get 0L (no tone), the same as if I am touching nothing. This is a bad part, right?
