Hello, our dishwasher started burning in the middle of the night. My granddaughter was still up and in the kitchen and she alerted us that it was burning And smoking.
Apparently, the plug from the motor to the control board is what started burning.
We looked at the receipt and we purchased it on July 16, 2016. 5 days past the five year warranty.
‘My main question is, should we repair it or would it not be worth it? My husband thinks it could be the control panel, however, he’s not sure if thats All, and should we invest in the panel and wiring harness, risk further expense or just replace? I’m including a couple pictures but I don’t know if you can tell much from them.
I appreciate any advice on this! Thank you

If it were me I would contact Whirlpool, show them the pics, if they're worth their salt they'll replace it

I agree with Paul, even 5 days over the warranty KitchenAid is pretty good at making good on the warranty still for the control board.

Also let them know about the smoke and almost fire damage, and send them those pics too like Paul mentioned.

You can contact KitchenAid at : 800-422-1230

Here's the control board for your model: W11228314

Here's the wire harness for your model: W10868117
