The dishwasher is not washing. Water comes in and gets hot, but the spray arms don't move. When we cancel the cycle, the water drains out. We are getting error codes 10-2 and 7-1. Per the tech sheet that came with the machine, 10-2 is the vent wax motor and 7-1 is the wash motor. We replaced the wash motor (part W11416362 sump and motor assembly). We are having a tough time figuring out which part is the vent wax motor. There was no change in the problem after replacing the wash motor.

We bought it in April 2020.

What are we missing?

So we installed the new vent assembly...and we are still getting the same error codes. We tried running a wash cycle. It fills with hot water, but the spray arms don't spin. What do we do next???

Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power.
Remove toe and outer door panels to access control board.
Unplug connector P5 from control board.
Check the wash motor using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between P5-1 and P5-2.

If the resistance is between 10-15 ohms, the wash motor and harness are good.

If meter check of wash motor circuit shows normal resistance and still not getting power to the wash motor, replace control board.

Thank you! Unfortunately, we already replaced the wash motor...so does that mean it is likely the control board even tho there is no fault code for that? And why is the dishwasher still giving fault codes for things we have already replaced?

Yes, I know you already replaced the wash motor. But you could have a issue in the wiring from the control board to the wash motor, that's why your suppose to ohm test the complete wire harness down to the wash motor, and thus that ohm tests the wash motor in turn, you see what I mean?

Also, the wash motor you got could be defective, its rare, but not unheard off.

And why is the dishwasher still giving fault codes for things we have already replaced?

not yet - we stopped trying because our son was in the hospital for a month...and then we got a letter from whirlpool about a "proactive program" (NOT a safety recall) and someone is coming out to do a "performance upgrade" to replace the heating element. So we are going to let that happen before we do anything else. Will update after August 17th

Sorry to hear that @DanaDIY We are in the same boat. They replaced the heating element but still not helping. We are facing the same problem as you. We have placed the order for the pump & sump and they are saying it will take months for it to be delivered. Any idea from where you got this W11416362 ?
@Jake Please you can guide us if possible. Here we are waiting for the pump & sump. Many blogs here suggest that even after replacing the pump & sump its not working. How to go about this ?
