Hello,

I have a Kitchenaid dishwasher KUDS01FLSS3 with a broken heater element. I see that replacement part 8194200 - which itself was a replacement for a previous number with a new control board - is no longer available.

Seeing as my element is round, not angled, I assume that my unit had the earlier part.

Is there a suitable replacement alternative from elsewhere in the Whirlpool family?

It would be disappointing if not being able to effect a simple repair required us to buy a brand new dishwasher and send the old one to the landfill, but I guess we should consider ourselves lucky to get 15+ years of service from this one.

Thanks!

Is your tub plastic or stainless steel?

If the inner tub is plastic order part number W10518394

For the stainless steel tub you need this one: WPW10082892

Another member said it worked:
His is Kenmore is made by Whirlpool, which owns KitchenAid.

Thanks very much, Jake! I did see this post but wasn't sure how the brands/models compared, so really appreciate your help. For this amount of money, it's well worth a shot... I'll give it a try and let you know how it goes!

Sorry for the delay in updating this thread. Got the part pretty quickly, but it took me some time to get around to completing the repair.

Repair was pretty straightforward and new part works great! Nice to have the dishwasher cycle complete in a reasonable time, instead of running seemingly forever, with nice clean, hot, dry dishes ready to go! Saved some bucks on the repair and should save some more on the electricity bill!

Thanks for the assist, Jake, much appreciated!
