I have a leak underneath the dishwasher on the right side. The water is dripping off this white piece where the red arrow is pointing in the attached photo. Do you have any idea what the problem may be? (I already replaced the door seal and that doesn't appear to be it as it is dripping underneath a few inches from the door on the right side) Help and THANKS!

Added correct model number

Hi, W10476361A isn't a model number, read it from the model number tag inside the door on the tub frame.

That looks like your float gasket(aka seal) leaking.

Thanks for the reply, Jake. The correct model number is KUDS35FXSS5. Does the float seal need to be replaced? Is there a video that demonstrates how to do this?

Thanks!

Yes, Its possibly the float gasket that's worn out and leaking water.

Here's the float gasket for your model:
WP8531743 Gasket

There is a video in the float gasket part link to replace the float gasket, and it also shows you how to remove the float to see if its broken underneath it. Now the video tells you remove the entire dishwasher, which I never do when I do this job. I just remove the outer door panel to get more room under there. To remove the door panel just remove all the torx screws inside the door, then the outer door panel lifts up and out.

Here's the float for your model:

Let us know what you find.

Jake,

We are now LEAK FREE!!! I was able to remove the float gasket and the float. I didn't see any cracks in the float and the float gasket only had some minor buildup on it that I was able to gently flake off. It still appeared "rubbery" and clean so I put it back together and we had no leaks!

Your tip to just remove the front door panel rather than pull the whole dishwasher out and then have to flip it on its back three times, like he did on the video, was a very good one. Also, I was able to remove the gasket without removing the heat barrier/insulation piece as we could work around it.

Thank you so much for all your support and sage advice. Greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,
Kevin

Excellent, good job Kevin.(y)

Thanks for the update!

Hi Jake,

It starteed leaking again in same place so this time we are replacing the gasket instead of just cleaning it up like I did last time. I have completed the replacement, but I a having an awful time getting the front door panel back on. I had a really hard time last time, too. Do you have a video on how to put the front door panel back on? Thanks!

Hi Jake, you can ignore the message agove about the door panel......we were making it more difficult than it needed to be. NOW, when we went to test it, it won't fill with water. I can here what I assume to be the water pump or something going on and it is making a loud buzzing sound (not ear splitting by any means, but much louder than normal which just sounds like water filling. I am not sure this is at all related to the work we did. Any ideas what it could be? Thanks!

Make sure the water supply to the dishwasher is ON, which is usually located underneath your sink.:)

Because if the water inlet valve is humming/vibrating that means its trying to put water in but can't if your water supply is OFF.

Hi Jake,

Thank you so much for your reply. I never turned it off for the repair, but I did double check when I heard the buzzing to make sure it was on. I turned it off and then back on. Then I removed the hose again and checked to make sure water was coming out of the faucet end (right where it splits with the hot water that goes to the sink) and water did come out. I reconnected the dishwasher water hose again and it is still making the buzzing sound.

Any ideas?

I really appreciate your help!
Kevin

Ok Kevin, is the buzzing coming from the water inlet valve?

You took the water supply line hose off of the water inlet valve and you have good water pressure?

I have good water pressure coming out of the wall behind the sink where I connect one end of the hose. The buzzing is coming from underneath the dishwasher. Should I disconnect the hose where it connects to the dishwasher and test it there?

I removed the silver hose from the brass line and I have good water pressure at this point going into the dishwasher.

Also, the dishwasher keeps coming on and trying to drain, even though I am not prompting it to do so. It will try and drain and then shut off, then a few minutes later it will come back on again and try to drain again.

That situation is very strange, replacing that float gasket should not have caused this problem.

I'd recheck all the wiring in that area to see if you accidently left a wire off or loose.

If the dishwasher was working good before you replaced it, it should work the same after you replaced it, that's why it must be a wire issue.
