I recently bought a house that came with a KUDS35FXSSA dishwasher, from I believe 2014. We noticed quickly that it was cleaning quite poorly, especially on the top rack. We also noticed that the middle spray arm seemed to not spin, and when not running the bottom spray arms will bang against the tube in the back that feeds the middle and upper racks. The bottom arm spins with seemingly no issue during operation, though. The top sprayer seems to work fine. It's also worth mentioning that water does appear to be coming through the middle spray arm although I can't say how much.
Here's what I've done so far to try and fix the issue:
- Replaced the old food chopper, which had broken and was absolutely caked with debris. This fixed the issue with poor cleaning on the bottom rack and somewhat the top.
- Removed and thoroughly cleaned every piece of the internal spray system (arms, feeder pipe in the back, top sprayer, filter at the bottom, etc.) The spray arms in the middle and bottom both had quite a bit of debris in them.
- Removed and cleaned the water inlet valve and its mesh filter.
- Run several washes of vinegar through.
- Checked my homes water pressure, and added extra water during a cycle to ensure it wasn't an issue with undersupplied water or low pressure.
At this point, I'm at a loss for what to do aside from outright replacing parts. That's fine, but I want to be sure I've exhausted all options first. I'm also not sure if the problem is in the spray arm itself or the supply tube in the back.
Any advice would be really appreciated!
