FIXED KitchenAid double oven - top oven doesn’t bake, broiler works KGRS505XSS05

Hello, was hoping for some assistance. I have a KitchenAid double oven. Bottom oven operates properly. Upper oven will work on broil but when I set it to "Bake" it does not heat. Digital display does not move past low, do not feel any ambient heat in the oven itself. Guessing it is the igniter but not really sure. Thankfully worked on Thanksgiving. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks!

Also, I examined the ignitor and it is not glowing at all. It seems like this is the likely culprit but I would like to rule out other possibilities before replacing. Thank you again.

Yes, if the BAKE ignitor is not glowing, I always check for 120 volts going to it at the electrical connector when the oven is on BAKE 350 degrees, if you get 120 volts and its not glowing, then its bad.

Wanted to share an update here. I replaced the igniter and the oven is now heating up and definitely quicker than it had been. Just curious if the part comes with any kind of coating that may burn off after the first couple of uses? Noticing a faint smell that smells a bit like I would typically notice when I do a self clean. Nothing overly drastic but would like an expert opinion. Thank you for the help to this point.

Yes, it does come with a coating that burns off, that's normal.
