Hello All,
I have a Kitchen Aid Range that is problematic with the oven.
The upper burners light fine but the oven does not. I hear 2 clicks from the gas valve but nothing happens.
I see no spark at the ignitor (which I just replaced).

Seems to me that it is likely the spark Module WPW10331686
My question is: if it is the spark module not making spark, why cant I ignite manually with a lighter? I assume the gas should flow...
Is the gas valve somehow connected to the spark system and it is immediately disabled?

Also, is there a way to troubleshoot the module with a multimeter?
What are the chances its the gas valve trying to click open but not succeeding? I assume I would see the spark on the ignitor? I dont.
Could it be something else?

thanks
G

Hi G.

Read post #4 here:
Rick explains how to Volt test the spark module, and ohm test the gas valve. You model uses the exact same spark module and gas valve Rick posted in post #4.

Let us know what you find.

Thanks Jake. I will test.
But, If I hear the gas valve actuating, does that not mean that the spark module is closing the switch to the solenoid?
Or am i missing something? I am thinking it is the ignitor, not the gas valve.
But I will test as you suggest.

Thanks Again!

The spark ignitor needs to spark before the gas valve opens, if you see no spark then its likely the spark module(DSI). But do the voltage test Rick shows in that other thread to verify that.:)
