Hi,

I have an Kitchenaid KRMF706EBS01 that I bought from someone with reports it worked perfectly fine. Come to find out, it is not working like they said. The fridge will not getting cooler than 37-39 degrees, the freezer will not get colder than 16 degrees, and the ice maker is not making any ice. There is plenty of water pressure, the water filter is new and inserted correctly. So not sure why the ice maker is not making ice either. Also, yes the ice maker is set to on.

I have already reset the fridge by unplugging it. I have ran diagnostics by watching a YouTube video and getting no errors. The fridge does not have any ice build up. It does maintain 37-39 degrees and does not have problems getting up to that. I had a service tech guy come out and did the same thing I did with "diagnosing it" by the control panel diagnostic steps and then told me that because everything came back with no errors, the problem is all 3 control boards and user interface. Just want to check if this sounds correct, and if so if anyone can tell me the part numbers to replace items.

Thanks for your help.

Katie

The freezer needs to be at about 0 degrees F and no higher than 10 degrees F.

Remove the back panel in the freezer, we need to see the frost pattern on the evaporator coil, take a photo of it please and upload it.

Look at the last photo below, where it says NORMAL FROST PATTERN.

Let me know if you figure anything out. I thought about just recharging the fridge and see what happens but then that will prob void any warranty of the closed system. I also don’t want to pay a tech to come out and hope they test the system right this time but it should’ve been proper diagnosed in the first place.

Your concern is exactly what I have been trying to avoid as well... i.e. incomplete diagnostics and just through money at replacing the obvious things to see if that fixes the problem. My journey started with a tech initially telling me I needed to pay $1500 to replace the entire Pantry drawer, UI control board and wire harness because there are known problems with a shorted UI control board causing other issues. That may or may not fix the cooling issues. While this is true in some instances, it turns out my non-functioning pantry door UI was due to severed wire harness which I troubleshot and repaired on my own for $50 so I could move past the concern that a bad Pantry UI control board is causing the cooling problems in RC and FC.

check my latest update. SS Tech replaced Compressor and RC Evaporator. Freezer and Ice Maker now working. Refrigerator on watch whether cooling enough.
