My 4 year old KRFS505ESS01 is leaking water from the dispenser in the door. It only happens after filling up a cup. I found this thread wherein two different valves are linked.
  • OEM single(primary) water inlet valve
  • OEM dual(secondary) water inlet valve

Before I go pulling this beast out of its place in the kitchen, could someone please verify that replacing the inlet valve is likely to fix the issue and advise me on which of the two I should order? Thanks!

Yes, its usually the secondary one that causes this issue.

Here's the OEM dual(secondary) water inlet valve for your model:
Water Inlet Valve WPW10341320

Thanks, not that I want to spend another hundred bucks, but is it less hassle overall to just replace both valves? Is there any type of test I can do to suggest that it secondary one is to blame or is it just based on your experience that you say that?

Yes, you can disconnect the water line tube from the primary water inlet valve solenoid and see if water keeps dripping from that one first.

Here's the OEM single(primary) water inlet valve for your model:
WPW10238100 Valve

Thanks for the advice and the link. I don't think that will work just because the leak/drips only happens after someone fills up a cup. The drips occur after the cup has been filled and last for 5-10 seconds. Then no more drips. Based on that, do you still think I should order and replace the dual inlet valve?

Yes, I do.

Your welcome, let us know how it goes.:)

Got the part replaced after some struggle to remove one of the old lines from the pressure fitting. Seems to have fixed the drip issue, thank you!

Excellent, glad to hear that.(y)

Thanks for the update!
