KitchenAid Range YKERA205PS0 Element does not go to low heat

I have a kitchen aid stove/oven does not allow for low/simmer. Only works on high heat.

adjusting the knob does not lower the heat element. What could it? Where to start?

That model number looks incomplete. It should usually have a number at the end. Did you get it right off of the appliance's model and serial number tag?

Only works on high heat.

It is the switch that controls the element settings. If the element only stays on HI, it's switch will need to be replaced

Thanks Dan. What switch? At the knob? Can you be more specific?
the model number is YKERA205PS0. I was missing the zero

The knob is attached onto a switch. That switch is what is malfunctioning and will need to be replaced.


Did you look at the page at the link I supplied and the rest of the information found there??

Heat Control​

Power to the surface elements is cycled on and off by the element control switch that is mounted behind the control knob on the control console...
