Greetings All - New Guy here!
Got this Kitchenaid side by side fridge with icemaker in the door. Stopped making ice some time ago. Ran thru the diagnostics and got a E5 code on service test 56. Replaced with a new icemaker and that resolved the error code - but still no ice. Ice box fan works (service test 36), Ice level sensor works (service test 15). Of note -- the ice maker itself stays pretty warm (~55 deg F). No issues with the fridge cooling or freezer - both appear to we working fine.

I'm thinking the ice maker is just not getting cold enough to freeze water. Had to install the fascia heater and rear adapter kit about 5 yrs ago due to excessive ice build up on the interior of the fridge. That went well and ice maker worked fine for 2 - 3 years after that. Water dispenser working fine - installed new filter. Ice maker water fill test (service test 45) went fine - water dispensed.

So the water valve (s) are working. Scratching my head on this and don't know what else to try - - hoping anyone has some ideas for me to try.
Many thanks in advance!

That is strange, you are absolutely sure the ICE BOX FAN MOTOR is running?

Here's the ice box fan motor for your model:

See the ice maker door in this video above his head? The air should be blowing in there.

Thanks for the reply and tip Jake!
In short I do NOT think it is running all of the time. I confirmed that it will turn on/off when I
enable service test 36 (Ice box fan). Toggle o1 and I can hear the fan running when the door is open, toggle 02 and it turns off. But I do not hear it running on a regular basis. That siad, I think the fan is "OK" (operative) but perhaps something else is at fault.
Any suggestions to try.

As a side not, I have noticed the Fridge box seems to getting a tad warmer. I have the temp set to to lowest temp allowed (32 F) but the inside tempp hovers around 50ish. Thinking that's not right?
Thanks for your time and expert advice!

Ok, then check the refrigerator evaporator fan motor and see if its running. Also make sure your refrigerator evaporator coil is not frosted up. Take a photo of it if you could please.

Look at page 5-9 and 5-10 here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/s5wx9d9xppw3wry/R-114 JOB AID W10444924.pdf?dl=0

It will show you how to access it, you may have to remove the Air Tower and the Deli Drawer first, Deli Drawer removal is on 5-7 and 5-8.

Here's the evaporator fan motor for the refrigerator section for your model:

Also there is another service pointer on the refrigerator evaporator coil thermistor, here it is: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rebn8wa2sxbjqi9/Service Pointer -RefrigEvapThermistor W11092686 - Rev A (1).pdf?dl=0

Look on page 2 Figure 1 and see if your thermistor is in that position, if so, they want you to move it, Look on page 3 it explains what to do to move it.

Also I'm attaching your tech. data sheet below, DO Service Test - 3 Evaporator fan motor and air baffle motor

Let us know what you find.

Thanks Jake - appreciate your continued help. Will check the evaporator thermistor. Both of the dropbox links you sent appear to be the same document - - cant find the instructions for removal of the drawers/tower. I'll give it a try anyway. I did find the service sheet you attached - - both the RC and FC thermistor (service test 1 and 2 gave "01" or pass. Additionally service test 4 fort he compressor was fine. All of the service tests I checked seem to be a "pass" or working.

Is it common for the service tests to be OK but the main board still have some issues? Any way to check that? I'll take some pics of the RC coils when I get it apart.
Many thanks!
