I mean to say, "Is there another coil in the freezer" or is it the same one that is located in back off the refrigerator compartment. Thanks.

The evaporator coil is inside the freezer, behind the back panel inside the freezer.:)

I don't see any photo you uploaded or sent me Kevin.:)

Ok, that helps. Is there a video like the one you sent for the refrigerator coil that will help me get to the freezer coil? Thanks!

Hi Jake,

Here are the pics of the evaporator coil in the freezer. I have a feeling the problem is the frozen chunk of ice to the right of the coil. The fan was running fine. Could this be the problem for both the freezer temp AND the ice maker not making ice?

Thanks so much for ALL YOUR HELP!

Greatly appreciated.

Hi Jake, I figured I would need to melt this ice block either way so took a blow dryer and melted it off. Here is what it looks like now. Looking forward to your helpful reply. Thanks!!!!

Thanks Kevin!

Per your photo of the freezer evaporator coil, you have a sealed system problem. Check your owners manual warranty, most have a 5 yr. parts/labor warranty on the sealed system.

Contact KitchenAid at 800-422-1230 to come out.

Jake,

Thanks so much for all your help. I have contacted KitchenAid and scheduled a service call. They confirmed that if it is a sealed system issue the parts are free, but labor is not covered nor is the $125 fee. This is the second time they will have checked the sealed system and the fridge is only 4.5 years old. What a lemon.

Again, thanks for all your support and persistence! It is greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Kevin
