Hey everybody, I'm still fighting the water pooling under the produce drawers on my KitchenAid KRMF706ESS01. I have replaced the warped drain pan under the coil, and it's still happening. The drain line is definitely frozen solid. It took quite a bit of hot water and a turkey baster to get it unthawed again. Once it thaws out, the water flows freely to the pan under the fridge. I even siliconed around the trap under the fridge because I thought it could possibly be letting some air in. No luck still. I have no idea how to fix this. Please help.

Just an idea!
Did you go to the back bottom and remove the drain and flush it out or just watch for water in the defrost pan?
A restriction can still allow water to flow but slow it down and cause problems.

I took the drain trap off the bottom of the fridge. No blockage at all. I then proceeded to thaw out the drain under the top coil (at the back of the crisper drawers) with a turkey baster full of hot water. It took about an hour of this to finally hear the drain clear. I then flushed it out with several rounds of hot water mixed with baking soda. After this I ran a small snake from the bottom of the drain up to the drain pan several times. I didn't get any type of debris on the snake. I put the trap back on and ran some more water down the drain. Went straight down immediately to the pan. Checked the drain for three days in a row. Drain working normally, as far as I can tell. Fourth day, drain frozen again. Water running under crisper drawers, for the 100th time. I'm really stuck on this one. No idea why the drain keeps freezing up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

FF section too cold?
Air leak causing too much front on that evaporator?
Would need an Whirlpool/KitchenAid tech check but the 3 way valve is suppose to shut off refrigerant flow to that evaporator when the FF is cold enough and when that evaporator is gonna defrost....sticking open creating too much frost = too much water?
These are total guesses.

I'm back. I had a certified KitchenAid tech here twice. He's kind of stumped. He did change out a thermistor and one of the fans. Drain line is still freezing up. I've been doing temperature checks the past couple of days. Today, the bowl of water in the right crisper drawer was at 35 degrees. That's with the crisper drawer set on "thaw". I would think that would cause a drain line freezing issue, wouldn't it?

Might....32ºF is freezing.

Maybe that tech can call the tech support line for any tips/tricks or hints!

I wanted to ask your opinion on doing something that might sound crazy, but I'm out of options. The fridge section drain line continues to freeze up. I had a KitchenAid tech look at it twice. He couldn't figure out why it's doing it. I've had components and the drain pan replaced. All areas of possible air leaks have been addressed. Could I drill through the back of the fridge underneath the drain pan and run the drain line outside of the fridge? That would possibly stop it from freezing up. Not sure what else to do? I'm ready to get rid of it, even though it still works fairly well.
Any other opinions or options are appreciated.
