Kitchenaid Wine Cellar KUWO24RSBX not cooling. Lights on, the fan's on. I've tested the thermostat, bypassed with a jumper. The compressor still won't start. Any recommendations?
Is it the compressor or could it be the "Start Dev "? If so how to test them?

Your missing the last 2 digits at the end of your model number, read it from the model number tag on the machine.

KUWO24RSBX00
KUWO24RSBX01
KUWO24RSBX02
KUWO24RSBX03
KUWO24RSBX14

Unplug the Wine Cooler from the wall outlet, and ohm test your compressor start relay.

Here's the compressor start relay for your model:
WP4344776 Start-Dev

See those two holes? Put your multimeter probes in each hole at the same time and set your meter on the lowest ohms of resistance setting which is usually Rx200. Normal would be between 3 to 12 ohms.

Thanks for the info. Model number KUWO24RSBX24. Tested start relay and measures 6.2 ohms.

The compressor seems to be working, it vibrates when on. Could it be a leak? Compressor or evaporator?

Janet

Yes Janet, Sealed system problem if the compressor is running and your getting no cooling.

The sealed system consists of the compressor, condenser, evaporator, heat exchanger, filter/drier and refrigerant.

Common problems with a sealed system are bad compressors, refrigerant leaks, and system restrictions. Sealed system repair costs will often exceed the machines value.

That's what we were thinking. Already shopping for a new cooler. Good to know have a more knowledgeable opinion.

Sounds good Janet!
