• ** REMEMBER! **The microwave can still shock you even unplugged!!

ALWAYS discharge the high-voltage capacitor first if you even think your hands will come close to any HIGH VOLTAGE components.

Jeff mentions this: Anything in the high voltage ( magnetron, capacitor, diode, wires to and from ):
...Use a metal ( not the shiny chrome type ) screw driver with a insulated handle to short across ( touch both at the same time ) the terminals of the high voltage capacitor to discharge it.

KMHC319ESS3 KitchenAid Microwave - Open Close Door Issue and No Power

I have the KitchenAid KMHC319ESS3 microwave. Last week had several Open Close Door Errors. After several times of opening an closing the door the microwave would work. This lasted for about a week then all power was lost. Microwave is currently dead and will not power up.

Can someone help me figure out what parts are needed to resolve both issues? What switches should be replaced? Is there a fuse that needs to be replaced for the power issue? I dont mind replacing parts that arent necessarily broken, just want it to work again ASAP. I saw a few other threads discussing how to diagnose switches, but those are slightly different model numbers, also dont care which one is bad, willing to replace them all.

What needs to be done?

Thanks in Advance for any help!!
