Hello,

Hopefully someone can help me out cause this has been such a terrible experience with Whirpool.

My fridge is 4 months old and I've had a technician out 7 times trying to repair my Kitchenaid ice maker issue but they can't seem to figure it out. They've replaced both control boards and the ice maker tray/unit combo at this point but still no ice.

I took the tray out this morning and noticed the fill tube outlet has a piece of ice attached to it restricting water from coming out. I've been researching on the forum and everyone is saying its the fill tube heater but mine doesn't have any heater lines coming out of it (see attached photos).

If someone could help out with what the issue might be I'd greatly appreciate it. At this point I'm willing to fix it myself because the techs that are getting sent out to repair these things seem like they don't even know anything about the unit itself.

When the customer has to tell the tech how to get in diag mode you know there is an issue 🤣

That's very odd, I've not run into this issue before or I could assist you.

You'll need to have KitchenAid Canada come back out at 1 (800) 807 6777 to come out to see what's going on.

All Authorized KitchenAid techs are suppose to have a FACTORY TECH. HOTLINE. Then the KA tech can call the FACTORY TECH. HOTLINE from your house to investigate this problem.

If you continue to have issues contact corporate headquarters:
NORTH AMERICA
600 West Main St., Benton Harbor, MI, 49022-2692
Telephone: 269-923-5000

Per your tech data sheet it does mention fill tube heater. I'm attaching your tech. data sheet below.

Service Test - 66 Door Ice Maker Fill Tube Heater Test
• When entering service test, the Door Ice Maker Fill Tube Heater turns on. The display shows “ON.”
• When leaving service test, the Door Ice Maker Fill Tube Heater turns off.

The door ice maker fill tube heater is located inside the door, if that heater is broken you'd need to replace the entire LEFT SIDE REFRIGERATOR DOOR to get the new fill tube heater: https://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Door-Assembly/W11610996/4978992

This is the pin connector locations on the main control board that supply voltage to the fill tube heater--->P13-1 P13-2 12.7 VDC FILL TUBE HEATER

ohmed out the fill tube heater and its at 75.8 ohms. The voltage from P13-1 and P13-2 is 10.83VDC.

Ok, It doesn't say what the ohms on that fill tube heater should be, so I don't know if 75.8 ohms is good or not.

Also the voltage seems lower than it should be.

Hello, we are experiencing the same issue. How did you remove the ice maker assembly on the left side? how many points of contact? Thank you

Here's the ice maker for your model: W11557001

Here's the instructions to remove it:
