We have a KRFF305ESS00 Kitchenaid refrigerator. This 25 cu ft unit has a refrigerator compartment with french doors over a top-loading freezer pull-out bin. It is 4 years old. No ice maker or water line.

Periodically there is a two-times-per-second knocking sound that runs for 10 seconds to a minute. It will abruptly start and stop. The noise is not related to the expected quiet hum of normal fridge cycling.

The attachment is a recording of the noise.

Do you have any idea what this might be? We live in a remote location and it is hard to get service.

If it’s a simple replacement, I’d be willing to try it myself.

I heard it, is the noise coming from inside the refrigerator section? If so, that sounds like possibly the air damper is the culprit.
