Just today the lights have started to flicker and illuminate dimly, only on the fridge side of this side by side unit. Initial research suggests a lighting module but I am not very conversant with fridge repair. I could about manage to remove a plate and pull out a plug on board and replace with another, if it didn’t involve removing other components or plumbing work. Has anyone experience of this and could maybe offer some guidance to self repair.

This is my first post so hoping that I’m asking the right question.

Many thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,

These LED lights run in series, they are like the old Christmas lights, when one goes bad it affects the others.

Usually its the very top one that goes bad on these models.

I asked our tech bigbuck if he can please post your tech. data sheet so we can verify that.

Here's the very top LED for your model:

This video shows you the way to remove these:

Here is a tech sheet that may help.

Thanks bigbuck!

Ok, its a little different on this model, the LED Module on the LEFT BOTTOM is the first one in series.

Here's that LED Module for your model:

In your freezer you can take out the good TOP LED Module and put it in place of the bad TOP LED Module and see if the rest of the lights in the refrigerator start working good again.

Both TOP LED Modules are identical.

If switching the two TOP LED Modules don't fix all the refrigerator lights, then you will need to order this one:

Hi Jake, I am new to the forum and have a the side by side KRSF505ESS00 (not 01 like above) and have the flickering lights in freezer only (fridge lights are steady on as they should be). Can you help me figure out if I should replace the top light (W11226500) first or the bottom left side strip light (W10876365) first? The top is the main LED light that appears to be the same as the fridge LED, and the bottom left is the LED strip and I don't know how to read detail sheets. Thank you for any help you can give!

It would be the top freezer LED that you would need, that will fix them both in the freezer.

Here's the very top freezer ceiling LED light for your model you can order:

That top freezer LED fixed both members here too:

Let us know how it goes.

Jake you’re amazing. The light was exactly what it was, and although mine ran parallel to the top vent I was able to pop it out and change it. Thank you a ton
