Today I noticed a drip from the water filter area on our refrigerator. Upon further inspection, the drip pan was full with the leak coming from the cylinder where the filter inserts (see short video). Do I just have a filter with a poor seal or do I need a new filter cylinder?

Its the water filter housing that's leaking, you will need to order and replace your water filter housing.

When you click the part link to your water filter housing you will see a how to video to replace it.

Here's the water filter housing for your model you can order:

Thanks Jake. I put a new filter in shortly after I posted and there has not been any leaks yet. At any rate, I'll go ahead and order/install the part.

Thanks for posting.

Run 10 full glasses of water through the water dispenser and see if it leaks again.

I filled up a gallon jug to get the air out of the system and two 64 ounce water bottles. Still no leak and the drip pan is dry.
