We've got a KSSC48FMS02 that seems to be struggling and thinking its about to go. From reading here I'm thinking it might be control board going?

For the past 4 weeks or so there is a constant beeping from the fridge. The compressor also sounded like it wasn't staying on and recently have had the freezer door open and can't hear anything cycling. Until today it seemed to be holding good temps in the freezer & fridge...Never had an overtemp light or temps that were outside norms.

But this morning we woke up to louder beeping and temp readout (as well as reality) of the fridge & freezer being warm. I recycled the power and it seems to be cooling again and running the compressor.

I'm pretty sure all of this started to happen right after we had a power outage last month...

Oh, and the display will flash temps when I first open the door, but then quickly blanks out.

Hi, yes your control board is the culprit. The original control board is No Longer Available, they came out with a Service Kit to replace the original control board.

This is the Service Kit you need for your model, it comes with complete instructions on how to install it:
Electronic Control Board Service Kit W10818296

--->Its in-stock here: Cntrl-Elec W10818296

Sounds good, let us know how it goes.

Remember to disconnect power to the refrigerator before installing it.:)

Ok, so I think I've got another issue or missing something in the install. I got the new kit today and installed. It didn't come with any instructions, but it looked pretty straightforward with all of the connectors matching the connectors from the original board. So I removed the old board, connected all of its harness connectors to the new board and connected the new ground wire.

When I plugged the fridge back in the LCD panel inside seemed to go through some kind of count-up/start-up procedure and then showed what looked like reasonable temps and the display is staying on the entire time (unlike my old board which would flicker on/off). So I'm pretty sure the old board was going and this has fixed that issue. But then....

I looked back up top and I'm pretty sure I saw the fan turn over slowly one time or so and then stop. But the compressor is not coming on at all and the fan has not moved again since. The fridge & freezer temps are well above the target (10 vs. -3 and 51 vs. 35) but nothing seems to be happening. Thinking that maybe that kit wasn't right, I re-installed the original board and it still had the old symptoms of flashing display and beeping, but never cycled the compressor at all (which it used to do intermittently).

So I've reinstalled the new kit and will leave on and see if the compressor kicks on intermittently again or something. Might have had 2 issues going on?

What should I check now? This fridge had a completely new sealed system installed about 3 years ago, so I'm hoping its just something small...

Thanks.
Dave

UPDATE: Maybe I wasn't patient enough. After about 15 minutes or so the fan & compressor came on and have been running smoothly for the past 1.5 hours. Seems like everything is in good shape now. Thank you for the guidance on the fix!

Yes, it should of come with instructions, they always do. Look under the bottom box fold for them.

Glad to hear you got it installed though.(y)
