Hello,

Hope you and yours have been well through all of this. Sorry I couldn't find a more appropriate board. Please let me know if I should move my thread somewhere else. Hopefully someone out there knows about stand mixers!

I'm fixing an older model KitchenAid and I'm looking for your expertise.

I have a KT2651XBU serial # WL3063260.

I'm looking to replace the older 8-spline motor, part # 9703571. I ordered a new 10-spline motor, part # W10247536 as it was listed online as a suitable replacement.

Unfortunately, the new W10247536 seems a bit too big. It doesn't seem to sit properly in the housing.

Do you have a suggestion? Is there a 10-spline motor that will fit this model? Or could I somehow frankenstein parts from each motor to make it work?

Any knowledge is greatly appreciated. Thanks again and take care!

Yeah that's a fair point. I've read that the 8-splines were unreliable. The 10-splines chew through gears less. It's also hard to find the worm gear that works for the 8-spline.

Thanks so much for your quick reply Dan.

Can you confirm that those do in fact work with the 8-spline motors? Because according to the description on this site: ereplacementparts.com/gear-worm-new-version-p-621990.html they don't.

Appreciate your help with this!

It's a mate for motor # 9703571 from model KT2651. I have no idea about 8, 9 or 10 splines or any other number. I go by part numbers. I have no personal experience with it.
