Our KUDF204KPA KitchenAid Drawer Frig/Freezer will sound the overheating alarm. Resetting it will work for a while but within an hour or two (sometimes up to a couple of days), the alarm will sound again. The cooling fins are clean and the fans seem to work. Exhaust air temp is around 90 degrees in a 75 degree room. It does hold the correct temperature in both the refrigerator and freezer and the ice maker works.
I've had it looked at but my repair guy came away stumped as well. My options are 1) spend $3500 for a new one, 2) snip the wires on the alarm or 3) do what one of you geniuses suggest to fix it. I like #3 best!
