Hi -

My 6 year old dishwasher started smoking. Sure enough, the control panel was burnt out and melted. I ordered and received the $200 replacement part, but now I see that the one large 4 pin connector that plugs into the control panel is also melted.

I would rather avoid replacing the whole wire harness, which seems to run about $100, when all that I need to replace is the white rectangular 4 pin connector. Of course they don't sell this as a replacement part, and I have no idea how to find a match.

Does anyone know what sort of connector this is and if I can just replace this part?

The control panel I ordered to replace the original one is a Whirlpool part W10542068 REV E

Thanks for any and all help or suggestions!!!

Is that the 1/4" spade connectors?
You will not get that separately.
Best to cut ( one at a time ) and individually install a new connector on the wire ends and install on the new board.

Thanks. I didn’t think of that. I’ll give it a shot... definitely better than spending for that whole wire harness!

Fixed!

I took Jeff's advice, ordered the female spade connectors, and replaced the melted connector on the wire harness with 4 individual connectors.

Wired everything up, turned it back on, and..... clean dishes!

Thanks for the advice! Here's a picture of the original melted control panel, and the repair in progress...
