My 82 year old mother's dishwasher started leaking yesterday, with water appearing on the floor in front of the left side of the dishwasher (about a cup of water total). Have been using the LIGHT/CHINA cycle only, since the NORMAL cycle stopped working about 6 months ago (we always rinse dishes completely before loading dw). NORMAL cycle will fill with water, go into heating mode, and then just sit there for hours without starting the wash. Also the right detergent compartment cover doesn't open, so we leave the right detergent compartment cover open for the LIGHT/CHINA cycle. Dish cleaning quality has been excellent for this shortened cycle. Repairing the leak would be our preference.

Removed the bottom cover to observe the inner workings in operation. Water is leaking at a fairly good rate during the fill cycle from somewhere on the left side of the tub, and appears to be dripping down onto some electrical connections coming out of the concave part of the tub. But during the wash cycle, there is water dripping from what appears to be the left side of the door seal.

Is this dishwasher worth repairing, or should it be replaced? This dishwasher was chosen because of the quietness during operation. But at my mother's advanced age, she probably doesn't want to put that much money into a dishwasher.

Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.
