My LG LFXS30766S/02 fridge’s ice dispenser was developing a lot of condensation on the panel and the freezer temp was increasing. I discovered that the ice flap was not closing all the way. I found that with the front panel off it was closing just fine. I changed the springs just to be sure. Again, it isn’t closing completely with the panel installed but when I connect all the wires but have the control panel removed it opens and closes just fine. I also replaced the rubber on the flap but not the entire assembly. Any ideas?

Yes, I ended up replacing that but it still had the issue. I cannot find the part number for it but I removed the clear plastic that acts sort of like a funnel for the ice to fall through and that fixed the issue. Have you encountered this part becoming deformed over time enough that it interferes with the flapper? My main issue with this “fix” is that this part held the micro switch for the water dispenser so that’s currently not working.

No, I've never seen that issue before.

Hopefully another tech or member that's seen this problem and fixed it can shed some light on this issue.
