Good Evening.

I have a Front load LG gas Dryer. It is about 4-5 years old but have only used it for about 2-3 years.

I just cleaned the vent in attic so it shouldn't be a lint issue.

For some reason the dryer stops after 5 -20 minutes. Well short of the 41 minutes or so. Heat seems fine. Could it be moisture sensor? Short I do a hard reset? Thanks

Hi Eric,

It's most likely the motor that's bad. Are you able to start it again immediately when it stops?

Here's the motor for your model you can order:

Hi Jake

Yes it starts right away if I want it to start again. Heat seems fine. I only did a short 25 minute cycle but it seems manual dry is fine only sensor dry cuts off short. Is that still the motor?

Ok Eric,

Thanks for that added information, that throws a new light on it, since it's only happening in AUTO-DRY.

Its Possibly a build-up of fabric softener on the moisture sensor bar below your filter housing could cause that, use rubbing alcohol to clean the moisture sensor bar first, and see if that resolves it.

Here's the parts diagram for your model: Parts for LG DLGX3251W: Drum and Motor Parts

#K340 is your moisture sensor bar:
